Shantelle and Evan have a story filled with hope, disappointments, regrets, and love. It’s not easy to go through so many different emotions in a such a short span of time, but the rocky road the two characters take is the one leading them to happiness, love, and acceptance.
For Shantelle, her unshared love consumes her. She knows she only married Evan because his father made him, but deep inside she very much hopes that one day her husband will love her back. Despite all her efforts, Evan will still wants a divorce and disappear as soon as their marriage is over.
One of the things I enjoyed about Shantelle’s character is that she didn’t wallow in sorrow after her divorce. On the contrary, she focused on her career and became a famous, respected surgeon.
Now independent and rich, Shantelle has no intentions of loving again, until the only man who has ever been in her heart, Evan, returns to town and professes his love for her. Sometimes, second chances are hard to give, but Evan will use all his charm and wit to win back the heart of the woman he didn’t know he loved when they were married.

Part 1: The CEO’s Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor Main Story
The story debuts with Evan asking Shantelle for a divorce. He is now the CEO of the Thompson Group and his father can no longer control his life. Holding divorce papers in his hands, he keeps yelling at his crying wife. He can’t love her, not even now after two years of forced marriage.
Even though Evan brought up divorce several times in the past few months, she never took it seriously, but now, he seemed determined to break any contact with her. The man’s anger towards Shantelle can’t be tamed whatsoever, especially since his wife had the guts to go and confront Nicole, thinking she was his mistress.
Shantelle tries to defend her actions, saying she only did what any married woman would do trying to protect what belongs to her, but Evan keeps telling his involvement with Nicole is not romantic whatsoever, he is just helping her get back on her feet after Shantelle and his father ensured she couldn’t get a decent job anywhere.
Evan indeed has always been interested in Nicole, but his father threatened to disown him is he didn’t marry Shantelle. So, he gave in and married a woman he didn’t love. But now, after two years of a loveless marriage, he is tired of Shantelle and his father controlling his life and wants to be free again.
Shantelle has always been in love with Evan, ever since they were kids and she would always claim she would marry him when they grow up. He never minded her words, but things changed when Evan returned after being away for college. He came back with his girlfriend, Nicole, and didn’t pay attention to Shantelle anymore. At least, until his father, Erick intervened.
With one last look at his wife, Evan tells her he never loved her and throws the divorce papers on the living room table. Hearing his harsh words, Shantelle finally gives in and signs the divorce papers, ready to forgive and forget everything. Nicole won.
Unexpectedly, Evan starts doubting Nicole’s feelings toward him and he’s even suspicious about her real intentions toward him. Even more, he starts missing his wife, realizing he does have feelings toward her. But is it too late to win her back? Will she be able to forgive him?

Part 2: A Little Glimpse Into The CEO’s Ex-Wife Is A Famous Doctor Novel
Let’s face it. The author has done a terrific job portraying the leading characters. Shantelle and Evan’s story is so emotional and the pain they feel is so real that you’ll be rooting for them to get back together from the first chapter.
Of course, both Evan and Shantelle are guilty of their failed marriage, but they atone for their mistakes. And it turns out that spending some time apart did them a huge favor, as Evan realized exactly what his wife meant in his life and Shantelle finally focused on her career as a surgeon.
The novel’s chapters are intense, you never know what to expect from the leading characters, they sometimes act recklessly, they are sometimes cold, sometimes passionate and sometimes they even dominate one another. Now, let’s get a quick view into the story.

At five in the morning, Shantelle started packing her bags. She didn’t want to take the dresses that her husband had gifted her, she didn’t want anything that reminded her of him. She called her father’s driver to pick her up later and her eyes fell on her divorce papers.
Shantelle tried with all her might to stop herself from crying. She had to finish her divorce first and had enough time for suffering later. Reading the divorce papers, she learned that Evan was willing to give her ten million dollars in alimony. She didn’t want his money, but she signed the papers.
She got a message from an anonymous number, with a picture of Evan enjoying his morning coffee in someone’s place. He looked all disheveled and tired, signs he spend the night with that person. Along with the picture, there was also a message, saying that no matter what Shantelle would do in the future, Evan will still belong to her.
The woman realized Nicole was behind the message, so she must have also been the one who tipped her off about her own return to the city, thus causing animosities between herself and her husband. Later, Shantelle wrote Evan a letter, reminiscing about the good time they had when they were kids and apologizing for making their marriage so difficult.
She also sent him a message, letting him know she signed the papers and sending a print screen with the anonymous message and photo Nicole had sent her. She felt he had a right to know that Nicole was behind everything.
At a bar, Evan’s friends scolded him for divorcing Shantelle and choosing Nicole over his wife, when clearly she was better that his ex-girlfriend from all points of view. Evan brushed off his friends but got jealous when Keith implied that he would pursue Shantelle after their divorce.

Sometimes romance and heartbreaks go hand-in-hand. A love story that can survive a tumultuous journey is definitely worth living and reading.
