Hi folks! I have a problem....I have the old Bausch and Lomb Keratometer (which I love to use) but I don't have the manual (bought it second hand) It's been working just fine until today, I cannot see the mires. I put a new light bulb in it, so I know it's not that. Does anyone have a copy of the manual or know where to purchase one? Or better yet, has this happened to you?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance...Reply With Quote

Are lenses clean (easily accessable) Is arpeture that patient sees eye reflected in clear). Do the mires light up on the patient side? Are you sure you have everything lined up right. Sometimes they can be fussy about having the height and distance corrrect. Try suspending a steel ball and focusing on it. Once you get this done and centered. Mike the ball and see if readings are correct.
I have never seen anything go wrong with a keratometer (unless it had been dropped or had a wall fall on it except the rotation for axis freezing, which can be fixed by removing the screw on top and squirting lighter fluid in it. The worst mistake I ever made was repairing one for our local university. Prior to that they referred all fittings except resident's girl friends to me. Once I fixed it they went into business for themselves.See if the mirror (around the bulb is intact).
