YOUNGSTOWN – WKBN 27 First News has announced veteran journalist Lindsey Watson has been named co-anchor for the evening newscasts effective March 21.
Watson is a familiar face to viewers of the Mahoning and Shenango Valley, having anchored for several years on 33 WYTV. She’ll join Dave Sess on First News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Stan Boney for First News at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. First News at 10 airs on WYFX Fox Youngstown.
“I am truly honored to continue WKBN’s legacy and join this trusted team of award-winning journalists,” Watson said.
“Lindsey demonstrates a passion for explaining how and why news events will impact people here in the Valley,” said WKBN-TV General Manager Dave Coy.
Watson succeeds Alexis Walters, who, after five years as a meteorologist and news anchor with WKBN, is moving to WKBN’s sister-station in her hometown of Cleveland, WJW Fox 8.
