What are the Perfect Hitting and PCI Settings for MLB The Show 23?

Before diving into settings that we use for MLB The Show 23, you should be aware that adjusting settings in this game is an entirely personal thing and what we describe might not suit everyone. We will break down our choice and why we think they’re great but in the end, you don’t have to use them.

Here’s our way of making those Perfect-Perfects.

Settings for Hitting in MLB The Show 23

When editing your Hitting settings there are only a couple of things you should worry about. The first one is the Hitting View. In most cases, we used Strike Zone and Strike Zone 2 since these two viewing angles are closer to the ball and allow us to focus. But, if you are a player that likes to have a broad view of the playing field you should definitely go for Offset Zoom. Strike Zone and Offset Zoom are the best choices here.

We would use the Broadcast in the Pitching View, and leave In-Play View Offense and In-Play View Defense to Medium. Further, Vertical Camera Movement and Horizontal Camera Movement should remain Standard as well.

Settings for PCI in MLB The Show 23

Settings for PCI are more abundant but we will go through all of them in detail, presenting to you our favorite choices.

PCI Anchor should be put on the Preset, with a PCI Anchor Reset set on Batter and PCI Anchor Dots turned On. This setting setup will display 9 little circles on your screen, allowing you to rest your bat on one of them before you attempt to hit the ball from the pitcher.

PCI or Plate Coverage Indicator itself should be turned On. PCI Center is the first setting here and it allows you to modify the center display of your hitting area. We suggest you put this on Bat or Altitude as these two are the easiest to get used to in our experience.

PC Inner and Outer represent the animation around your central “aim”. We’ve managed with Basic on both options since it doesn’t bother us too much and it still helps us realize where our aim is going.

PCI’s Color and Transparency can also be edited. For the color, we would advise something bright like yellow, bright green, or teal. When it comes to transparency, it’s best if you keep it somewhere between 60% and 80% since the lower numbers will make your PCI virtually invisible, and higher numbers like 90% and 100% can omit your vision of the ball.

Lastly, set PCI Fadeout to None to get that extra second to track the ball and know where your PCI is placed before the ball reaches your bat.

Keep Changing Things Up

Whatever settings you find most useful for you is the best one for you, but there is one general piece of advice that we believe is true for everyone and that is to keep changing the settings from time to time.

We noticed that no matter how great our settings are while playing MLB The Show 23, after a while it gets boring and a lot of shots are missed because of it. So if you notice that you are slacking or missing more shots than you used to, it’s probably time for settings refreshes.
